Weatherization
Climate
Mechanical, Inc.
has our own in house weatherization department. We offer
several
weatherization measures to help our customers save money on
their utility bill and improve the
comfort of their home. Areas we can address are as follows:
solar screens, attic insulation,
comprehensive testing and sealing. Austin Energy customers
can receive REBATES for all of
these measures.
Attic
Insulation:
Most home's attics are under insulated with an average of
R10-R12. Austin
Energy programs recommend attics be insulated to R-38. We
use Johns Manville Climate Pro
insulation in all homes. Its clean, virtually dust free,
fire and moisture resistant, and does not
add extra weight to sheetrock like cellulose.
Solar Screens:
Our solar screens are made from quality materials. We offer
several different
frame colors to match your home (mill, white, and bronze).
Arch and trapezoid windows can be
done for an additional charge.
Spot Air:
We will weather strip all exterior doors, seal supply
plenums, seal return air cavity,
caulk plumbing penetrations and seal all air conditioning
registers.
COMPREHENSIVE:
We will measures as well as seal all ductwork and an ending
envelope
infiltration/duct loss test using Austin Energy approved
test method.
Energy Audits
Climate
Mechanical Inc.
is a registered contractor for Austin Energy to perform a
home energy audit for the Home Energy Loan or Whole House
Incentive programs. The
recommended energy conservation measures qualifying for
incentives and loans are as
follows:
Solar Screens:
All windows receiving more than 40% of direct sunlight for
one hour or
more per day will need screens.
Attic
Insulation:
Bring R- value of existing attic insulation to R-38.
Comprehensive
Duct Sealing:
Weather-strip all exterior doors, seal supply
plenums, seal return air cavity, caulk plumbing penetrations
and seal air conditioning
registers.
Air Conditioning
and Heating Replacement:
Install a minimum of 13.00 S.E.E.R. air
conditioning system sized according to Austin Energy 600sqft
per ton rule.
